Please join us for our next Journal Club on Thursday, November 20th at 5 PM CDT. In the paper “Molecular and physiological changes in the SpaceX Inspiration4 civilian crew,” Dr. Mason and colleagues present a comprehensive multi-omic and physiological profile of the first all-civilian orbital spaceflight. They document how a 3-day mission induced measurable molecular, cardiovascular, immune and neuro-vestibular responses, although most returned to baseline after landing. This research opens new ground for biomedical monitoring of private-crew spaceflight and the expansion of astronaut health databases beyond traditional agency-trained cohorts.
