The Space Health Accelerator (SPACE-H) aims to address health and performance challenges in human spaceflight as the sector rapidly evolves, particularly under NASA's Artemis program, which focuses on returning humans to the Moon. This initiative involves collaboration among Starburst, NASA's Human Research Program, the Translational Research Institute for Space Health, Methuselah Foundation, and Microsoft Federal to support entrepreneurs developing advanced biological and medical solutions for space travel.

For its inaugural year, SPACE-H concentrated on creating resilient, autonomous health and performance systems. Key areas of focus include:

- AI for System-level Autonomy: Developing fully autonomous systems to model risks and predict health outcomes.

- Synthetic Data: Creating equivalent datasets for testing without using sensitive astronaut data.

- Computational Biology: Understanding molecular damage and enabling personalized medical care.

- Medical Devices: Innovating compact, multifunctional medical devices for emergencies.

- Sensors: Implementing advanced sensors for monitoring health and performance.

- Pharmaceuticals: Exploring new ways to manufacture drugs in space.

- Biomedical Technologies: Modeling diseases and testing drug responses.

Join the Space-H inaugural cohort and program mentors as we share our discoveries from 13 intensive weeks of startup development.
