From On-Screen to Off-World: Space and Storytelling (OPEN TO EVERYONE)

What does it take to dress for life beyond Earth? Join Danica Vallone at the Exploratorium’s Life in Space Daytime Festival for an interactive, family-friendly experience exploring how both real spaceflight and science fiction have imagined the human journey into space.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see and try on astronaut-inspired gear created for film, including gloves, boots, helmets, and other artifacts, while learning about the engineering, design, and storytelling behind them. Through hands-on demonstrations and accessible stories, Danica will connect fictional portrayals of space exploration with the real technologies, challenges, and ideas that continue to shape humanity’s future off-world.

Adventurers of all ages are invited to get dressed for space, take a photo, and discover how stories can help us imagine what comes next.
