The National, International and Community Engagement (NICE) Committee at OSMED is dedicated to elevating the voices, experiences, and opportunities for international OSMED membership. NICE strengthens the global OSMED community by fostering meaningful engagement and dialogue, promoting collaboration across borders, and creating opportunities for professional and personal growth in space medicine, engineering and design—no matter where members live or work.

Our mission is to catalyze access and perspectives into space medicine and human spaceflight for non-US OSMED members, who historically have had less access to training, career and research opportunities in these domains. We do this by designing programming that highlights global perspectives, amplifies international perspectives, facilitates cross‑cultural dialogue, and connects the diverse OSMED community in impactful ways, to ensure that international and nationally dispersed OSMED members feel fully supported, seen and included.

  • Supporting OSMED members outside the United States

The committee includes trainees, early‑career and senior professionals with international backgrounds or interests, ensuring broad representation across disciplines and regions. Throughout the year, NICE organizes monthly events including town halls, debates, career talks, expert panels and joint events with other OSMED committees.
