Join the Organization for Space Medicine, Engineering, and Design (OSMED) for a special Grand Rounds session featuring Maybritt Kuypers, MD, PhD, FAWM, an emergency physician and former European Space Agency Flight Surgeon with expertise in space, aerospace and extreme-environment medicine. During her time with ESA, Dr. Kuypers supported astronauts throughout missions to the International Space Station and contributed to medical preparations for upcoming Artemis lunar missions.

Her work has also connected spaceflight medical operations with human research, helping inform research priorities for future human exploration. Alongside her clinical and operational experience, Dr. Kuypers is active in research, education and innovation at the intersection of space and health, with academic roles at Leiden University Medical Center and Mass General Brigham/Harvard Medical School.

This public online Grand Rounds session will offer attendees the opportunity to hear directly from Dr. Kuypers about the evolving role of medicine in human spaceflight and how knowledge and technologies developed for space exploration can help advance healthcare on Earth.
